| Well, I suppose the time had to come someday. I am moving on to a new blog. I started this blog back in undergrad, when I was a completely different person with different interests and dreams. Now that things have changed, I am changing blogs as well. Hopefully moving on will inspire new and more exciting entries as I continue on a path of growth.
I will still maintain my xanga account for awhile, mostly to keep up with my friends here, as well as just a record of the past several years. However, if you are interested in what is going on in my life currently, please go to blackhawkh109.wordpress.com.
Thanks for reading! And as always,
Semper Fi, Amanda

| So Gary's been asking me to update for awhile, so here goes...
3rd year vet school is a bitch. I've been super-stressed out all year, and the only good thing about it is that it ends sooner than the other semesters. A good thing, since it started earlier than the entire rest of the university. And if that wasn't enough of a kick in the teeth, we have a final a week and a half into our semester. Yes, I'm still bitter about that. I'd be a lot less bitter if I wasn't also getting screwed out of a week of vacation at the end of 4th year to make up for the extra week of vacation that the class ahead of us was given. *sigh* Yes, I'm whiny and bitchy. Just once it would be nice to feel like they actually wanted us to do well. Just once. That's all I ask for.
On a more positive note: I did get to spend all of my Christmas break with my wonderful husband. It was wonderful to have some time off to just relax. I got to be an adult for a few weeks, and I actually enjoyed it. I traveled with my husband, spent Christmas with my mom's side of the family, and spent New Years hanging out at a friend's house drinking champagne and watching movies until 4 in the morning. I could definitely get used to the housewife gig. It was absolutely wonderful not having to worry about anything.
Alright, there's an update. I guess I should go clean my apartment now.

| Yes, I realize I haven't updated this thing in almost 3 months. I just hate to write about such negativity. Bottom line is that I'm still in school, it's still kicking my butt, and I'm still geographically separated from my husband. So I'm dealing with all of that as best I can. I just wish I had some updates to interest everyone.

| I don't have a whole lot to talk about. Basically, I'm spending my last couple of weeks with my husband before returning to the world of school. While he's at work, I sit at home, waste a couple of hours on the internet, read some books, play some video games, and wait until he comes home. Not a whole lot of excitement in that, but honestly, this has been the best summer ever. I'm getting to do things that I've never had the opportunities to do before because I was always working or helping my parents out back home. For once, I can literally do only what I feel like doing. And just to break up the monotony, I go into the vet clinic 2 days a week to shadow. I was a bit apprehensive about that at first. I didn't think I'd get to see much, let alone do anything, but it's really been a wonderful experience. The vets and techs have been so great and helpful. I'm actually learning a lot this summer, so maybe when I start my surgery class in the fall I won't feel so behind. Completely worth my time. I only wish the summer was longer. | | |
| The wedding is over, the honeymoon is over, and I'm starting life as a married woman. Tomorrow will be one month, actually, and a wonderful month it has been. I am truly blessed to have found such a wonderful man, let alone to have him as a husband. I'm not looking forward to having to leave him for another 2 years to finish school, but with any luck, those 2 years will go by quickly. And then, the real adventure starts... | | |
